XRC Labs Welcomes New Partner, Diana Melencio

Melencio to Manage Entire Investment Process and Team Across Family of Funds

New York, NY – September 30, 2021 – XRC Labs, an NYC-based accelerator and venture fund focused on the retail technology and consumer goods sectors, welcomes a new Partner, Diana Melencio, who will help guide and mentor the portfolio startups. 

Previously in her career, Diana was an investor at WISE Ventures. She also built and scaled two companies in retail and consumer tech, including XRC Labs Cohort 1 company, QUINN, where she secured funding and led major partnerships with the Hudson’s Bay Company, Neiman Marcus, MasterCard, and Hearst Media. Prior to starting these companies, she spent a decade investing and consulting across the retail, consumer and healthcare sectors for reputable $12B+ funds in San Francisco and New York. 

“It’s been wonderful to come full circle and bring all of my outside knowledge to XRC,” says Diana. “In my role I will manage the entire investment process and team across the family of funds: XRCLabs, the Opportunity Fund and our Brand Capital Model. Our company as a whole is also eager to support underrepresented, minority founders and consumer audiences as we build future programs. To illustrate this, 43% of our portfolio brands have a female founder, 26% have a female CEO, 34% have founders of color, and 25% have a CEO of color - but we’re eager to see these numbers increase even further.”

XRC Labs is also searching for more principals to join the investment team.This job will entail identifying new startups to potentially join the network, guiding startups through the cohort program, advising them on elevator pitches and fundraising efforts and more.
